Step 5 - Appliances and light bulbs  

1. Refrigerator    ____ (points) 
   • If your refrigerator and/or freezer are less than 3 years old and is an energy efficient or energy star model, give yourself 5 points each.
   • If your refrigerator and/or freezer are less than 7 years old, give yourself 3 points each.
   • If your refrigerator and/or freezer are over 10 years old or have faulty gaskets, subtract 2 point for each!
   • Got a second Refrigerator in the Garages, subtract 4 points !
2. Dishwasher energy feature    ____ (points) 
   • If your refrigerator and/or freezer are less than 7 years old, give yourself 3 points each.
   • Do you use the energy saving feature on your dishwasher if it has one? If so, add 2 points.
3. Light bulbs    ____ (points)
   For each compact fluorescent light bulb, add 2 points.
   For any light fixture with a bulb over 200 watts - ( such as Halogen torch lights, subtract 2 points!
